True Religion: Light and Easy
It’s fun to be in a relationship with God. Truly fun. Delightful. Charming. The Scriptures even dare to describe it like a love story — two people captivated with each other, running through fields, laughing, delighting. “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me” (Song of Solomon 2:10).
This is the heart of true religion. Not rules, not hierarchy, not climbing your way to approval — but delight, joy, and love.
Jesus said it best: “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” He wasn’t inviting us into striving, but into freedom — a way of life that feels less like carrying a load and more like falling in love.
Yet many of us, even pastors and leaders, get stuck in a religion that’s full of weights. We find ourselves weighed down with expectations, sometimes even of our own making. But Jesus invites us into something different: light and easy, free and full of love.
So instead of asking, What do I need to do? maybe the better question is, How is my love life with God?
And if you’re longing to rediscover that freedom — to regain the joy, intimacy, and playfulness of walking with Jesus — that’s exactly what Coaching the Red Line is here for. Coaching and spiritual direction create space to notice God’s delight and to step back into the lightness of his love.
