Hurry; Loves Kryptonite

In comic books, kryptonite weakens the hero. In real life, hurry is kryptonite to love. Love and hurry simply can’t live in the same space. Love thrives on presence, patience, and attention — hurry starves all three.
Love is union — with God, with others, even with yourself. Union has its own pace. Jesus never seemed rushed. He walked, He stopped, He noticed. But hurry convinces us that speed equals significance, when the truth is the faster we move, the more disconnected we become from the Source of love.
When hurry becomes a habit, love turns into performance. Relationships become transactions. Prayer becomes a formality. We lose the deep awareness of God’s presence.
Coaching and spiritual direction can create the space to slow down — even just once or twice a month — to listen to God, be fully present, and rediscover a life that moves at the speed of love. Whether you’re here in Spokane and can meet in person, or you lead a small church in a rural area and want to connect over Zoom or phone, I’d love to walk with you.
